Privacy Policy
Padelify is an iPhone and Apple Watch app for tracking padel scores, sharing live games with nearby players, workout progress, and match history. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
Summary
Padelify does not require an account, does not run ads, does not use third-party analytics, and does not send your match history to a Padelify server. Match data is stored locally on your devices, synced between your paired Apple Watch and iPhone using Apple WatchConnectivity, and shared with nearby devices only when you use live game sharing.
Information Padelify Handles
Depending on how you use the app, Padelify may store or process:
- Team names and player names that you enter or edit.
- Live match state, including score, games, sets, current server, timers, and unfinished match snapshots.
- Nearby game sharing details, including join codes, nearby peer device names, participant display names, selected team, player or spectator role, and connected live score updates.
- Completed match history, including date and time played, set scores, match duration, team and player names, and optional club or court name.
- App preferences such as default names, button colors, workout tracking settings, and whether heart rate or calories are shown during a workout.
- Optional Apple Health workout data, including heart rate and active energy during workout tracking.
Apple Health
If workout tracking is enabled, Padelify asks Apple Health for permission to read heart rate and active energy during a tennis workout. The watch app can show those values during play. When a match is finished, Padelify can save the tennis workout and calories burned to Apple Health.
Health permissions are controlled by Apple Health and your device settings. Padelify does not use Health data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or sale to third parties.
How Information Is Used
Padelify uses the information above to:
- Calculate padel scoring, including deuce, advantage, sets, and tiebreaks.
- Show live match controls and score details on Apple Watch and iPhone.
- Let nearby players or spectators discover, join, and follow a shared live game by join code.
- Restore an unfinished match on Apple Watch.
- Save completed matches to your iPhone match history.
- Let you edit match details, team names, player names, and place names.
- Display optional workout metrics during play and save workouts to Apple Health when permitted.
Storage and Sync
Padelify stores match history locally on iPhone using SwiftData. The watch app stores preferences and unfinished match snapshots locally using Apple platform storage. Live and completed match payloads arUpe exchanged between your paired Apple Watch and iPhone using WatchConnectivity.
If you enable live game sharing, Padelify uses Apple local network and MultipeerConnectivity APIs to advertise a join code, discover nearby games, and send live or completed match updates directly to connected nearby devices. MultipeerConnectivity sessions require encryption. Padelify does not currently operate its own backend service for app data. If you use Apple services such as device backup or iCloud backup, Apple may handle copies of app data according to your Apple settings and Apple privacy policies.
Sharing
Padelify does not sell your data and does not share your match history with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers. Data may be shared only through Apple platform services required for app functionality, such as WatchConnectivity, Apple Health, and local network game sharing, or if you choose to share information yourself outside the app.
When you host a shared game, nearby devices may see the join code, match identifier, and the hosting device's peer name during discovery. Connected players and spectators may receive live score details, team and player names, participant display names, roles, and a completed match summary. When you join as a player, your display name defaults to your device name but can be edited before joining; joining as a spectator uses a spectator label.
Deleting or Controlling Your Data
You can delete saved matches from the iPhone match history. You can edit or clear team names, player names, and place names in the app. You can stop hosting or leave a shared live game at any time. You can turn workout tracking, heart rate display, and calorie display on or off in the Apple Watch app settings.
You can manage Apple Health permissions in iOS or watchOS settings and delete Health records from the Apple Health app. Uninstalling Padelify removes app-local data from the device, but Health data saved to Apple Health may need to be deleted separately in Apple Health.
Children
Padelify is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
